Report - First Quarter | March 2010

The total value of new credit granted decreased from R63.30 billion for the quarter ended December
2009 to R61.55 billion for the quarter ended March 2010, a decrease of 2.76% compared to the previous
quarter, but 19.04% higher than a year ago.

Report - Fourth Quarter | December 2009

Credit granted to consumers increased by R9.71 billion to R63.30 billion for the December 2009
quarter. This represented a significant growth of 18.13% when compared to the previous quarter. This
was the strongest rate of growth in credit granted since the NCR started publishing consumer credit
statistics. Mortgages and secured credit contributed 69.58% of the total quarter-on-quarter growth
in credit granted.

for the quarter ended June 2009 to R53.73 billion for the quarter ended September 2009. This is the
first increase in quarterly credit extension since December 2007.
